Naganna Baavi in Kamaraddy Becomes a Popular Spot for Pre-Wedding Shoots

NEWS CHARIOT : The ancient Naganna Baavi, located in the heart of the mandal, has transformed into a sought-after location for pre-wedding photo shoots. Once a historical stepwell that had fallen into ruins over the centuries, the site has regained its significance thanks to recent efforts to restore and preserve it. The baavi, which had deteriorated due to neglect, caught the attention of local authorities and media outlets, leading to action for its revitalization.
In response to a story published in Namaste Telangana highlighting the dilapidated condition of Naganna Baavi, the then-District Collector Jitesh V. Patel took immediate steps to improve the site. Special funds were allocated, and with the help of Infosys and the Rainwater Project, the restoration work was carried out. Former MLA Jajala Surender and current MLA Madan Mohan Rao also contributed special funds to complete the development, ensuring the historical structure was brought back to its former glory.
This rejuvenation has led to an influx of visitors, especially from nearby districts such as Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Pitlam, Gandhari, and Dichpally. On Monday, several groups held pre-wedding shoots at the baavi, transforming the surroundings into a bustling hub of activity. The picturesque setting and the restored heritage of Naganna Baavi have made it a popular destination for photography, adding a new dimension to its cultural and historical significance.
The restoration of Naganna Baavi is a testament to the collaborative efforts of local authorities, community leaders, and organizations in preserving Telangana’s heritage, while also creating a new space for tourism and local events.
