Nalgonda Drug Racket Exposed: Police Arrest Two, Seize Drugs and Cash

NEWS CHARIOT:-In a major breakthrough, Nalgonda police have busted an illegal drug racket involving the sale of Spasmo tablets. Mohammad Khaja Vaseemuddin, Khaja Shoaib, and Shake Amir, residents of Nalgonda, had become heavily addicted to the drugs and were involved in illegal activities to earn easy money. The trio had been consuming Spasmo tablets for an extended period, and their addiction eventually led them into the illicit trade of these tablets.
For several months, the accused had been acquiring Spasmo tablets from medical shops around Nalgonda and neighboring regions. However, as police surveillance increased, it became harder to find these drugs in local stores. In a turn of events, six months ago, Khaja Shoaib and Amir were introduced to a medical shop owner named Manideep in Piduguralla. They began purchasing sheets of Spasmo tablets from him at ₹100 each, later selling them at ₹180 per sheet to people in need, making a profit.
Mohammad Vaseemuddin, part of the racket, managed to gather 288 sheets of Spasmo tablets, which he was selling to those looking for an easy fix. The illegal operation was uncovered when police conducted vehicle checks on Munugode Road in Nalgonda. Khaja was stopped with a bag containing the drugs, leading to further investigation.
Following the arrest of Mohammad Khaja Vaseemuddin and Manideep, police recovered 2400 Spasmo tablets, valued at ₹25,000, along with a bike, ₹22,000 in cash, two mobile phones, and the medical shop’s license documents. Two other individuals involved in the racket are still on the run, according to Nalgonda DSP Shivaram Reddy.
In light of the bust, authorities have issued a stern warning to medical shop owners, emphasizing that selling drugs without a valid prescription will result in the cancellation of licenses and severe legal consequences. This action underscores the commitment of local police to combat the growing drug menace in the region.
