Nurses Caught Dancing During Duty Hours in Jagtyala District
NEWS CHARIOT (Jagtyala, Dec.16) : In a bizarre incident that took place, the nurses of the government hospital practiced dancing during their duty hours which have sparked controversy here in Jagtial district.
The issue has gained attention as the nurses are seen neglecting their responsibilities and leaving patients unattended to engage in dance practice and playing Kolatam in a room with loud music as part of the Christmas celebrations.
The sound and laughter echoed from the midst of the hospital wards disturbed the patients who expressed their anger and immediately filed a complaint with the Regional Medical Officer Dr.Suman.
But RMO said that he had only given permission for the dance practice and justified the nurses actions by stating that as there were fewer patients at that time, he gave permission to the nurses to engage in the activity.
After learning about the incident through the family members of the patients, the additional collector Goutham Reddy rushed to the hospital and inquired about the activity.
If any hospital staff does not have any work to do in the hospitals, then they must permanently leave the hospital and should to their houses but should not waste the time and behave negligently in providing medical services to the patients, he warned.
He ordered the hospital superintendent to take immediate action against the nurses for neglecting their duties and indulging in the dance practice during the duty hours and issue memos to all the nurses who indulged in the dance practice.
