One Mark Shatters Dreams: 1.85 Lakh Students Fail Telangana Inter Exams 2025

NEWS CHARIOT:-In a startling revelation from the Telangana Intermediate Examination Results 2025, approximately 1.85 lakh students failed to clear their exams by just one mark, sending shockwaves across the state. This marginal shortfall has triggered widespread disappointment and emotional turmoil among students and parents alike.
The overall pass percentage for this academic year stood at 71.37%, marking a stable yet concerning performance. Notably, the Gurukula educational institutions outshone others with an impressive 83.17% pass rate, reinforcing their reputation for academic excellence.
Among the standout performances, a girl student from the BiPC stream scored a near-perfect 997 marks, grabbing attention statewide. In the MPC stream, four students showcased brilliance by securing 996 marks. Adding to the list of achievers, a student from the Devarakonda Tribal Welfare School also scored 996 in BiPC, proving that talent shines regardless of background.
Despite these individual successes, education experts are expressing deep concern over the high number of students failing by just one mark. They are urging the government and the board to review policies regarding grace marks, revaluation, and recounting procedures. “We need a more compassionate evaluation system that also considers the mental health of students,” said one senior academician.
The Board of Intermediate Education has responded to the crisis by announcing the schedule for Advanced Supplementary Exams, which will commence on May 22, 2025. The detailed timetable is expected to be released in the first week of May. This will provide a crucial second chance for those who narrowly missed the pass mark.
Parents and educators alike are calling for greater transparency and reforms in the evaluation process to prevent such heartbreaking outcomes in the future. With lakhs of students on edge, all eyes are now on the supplementary exams, which may provide redemption for those affected by that single, devastating mark.
