Perini Dance Filmed at Historic Kotagullu Temples to Promote Telangana’s Cultural Heritage

NEWS CHARIOT : In a significant effort to preserve and promote Telangana’s traditional art forms, a 50-minute performance of Perini dance was filmed at the historic Kakatiya Kala Kshetra located in the Sri Bhavani and Ganapeshwara temples of Kotagallu, Ghanapuram mandal, Jayashankar Bhupalpally district. The filming took place on Thursday under the auspices of the Telangana Department of Culture, with the support of Mamidi Harikrishna, the Director of the Telangana Language and Cultural Department.

Perini Dance Guru Sandeep led a troupe of 20 artists who performed at various historic locations within the temples and monument. The filming was overseen by Director Shravan Victory Apoori, marking a pivotal step in the preservation of this cultural art form. The event is seen as a vital contribution to the safeguarding and promotion of Telangana’s rich cultural practices.

Speaking at the event, Guru Sandeep emphasized that the Perini dance performance was recorded to help preserve this traditional art for future generations. He also noted the significance of Kotagallu as a location chosen to highlight new facets of Perini dance and ensure its legacy for years to come. The filming aligns with the government’s commitment to promoting the region’s cultural heritage, with the aim of introducing the art form to international audiences.

Guru Sandeep also expressed his gratitude to Mamidi Harikrishna for his continuous support and expressed the hope that the project would play a key role in promoting the cultural wealth of the Kakatiya dynasty globally. The event is seen as an important step in bringing Telangana’s unique artistic traditions to the forefront on an international platform.
