Ph.D. Awarded to Mrs. Deepthi R by GITAM Deemed to be University, Visakhapatnam

NEWS CHARIOT:-Mrs. Deepthi R, a research scholar at GITAM Deemed to be University, Visakhapatnam, has been awarded the prestigious Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Pharmacy. The announcement was recently made by the Registrar of GITAM University, following the successful evaluation of her thesis by external examiners and the Viva-Voce committee.

Her research, conducted under the guidance of Dr. G. Suhasini, Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology, focused on the therapeutic potential of natural compounds in managing chronic kidney and cardiovascular conditions. Titled “Evaluation of Protective Effects of Selected Natural Compounds Against Adenine-Induced Chronic Kidney Damage and Cardiovascular Alterations – Targeting TGF-β1 and Caspase 3”, the thesis highlighted how certain natural substances could help in preventing damage caused by adenine-induced toxicity, specifically targeting key biochemical markers.

Mrs. Deepthi’s work adds valuable insights to the growing body of research focused on the intersection of nephrology and cardiology through natural pharmacological interventions. Her findings may open new avenues for the development of alternative therapies for chronic diseases that affect the kidneys and heart.

A native of Warangal, Telangana, Mrs. Deepthi Rayilla is currently serving as an Associate Professor at Care College of Pharmacy, located in Oglapur, Hanamkonda district. Her academic journey and contribution to the field have earned her warm congratulations from colleagues, research peers, and faculty members.

She was formally congratulated by Prof. Gouthama Rao Yejju, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Mr. Gunasekaran D, Registrar; Dr. B. Jagattaran Das, Dean of Pharmacy, GITAM School of Pharmacy (GSP); and Prof. L. Srinivas, Principal of the Visakhapatnam campus.
