PM Kisan Nidhi 19th Installment to be Released

NEWS CHARIOT : Millions of farmers across India are eagerly awaiting the release of the 19th installment of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) Yojana, which will be disbursed, February 24, 2025. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be releasing the funds by pressing a button at an event in Bhagalpur, Bihar. This installment will directly credit ₹2,000 to the bank accounts of approximately 9.80 crore eligible farmers nationwide.

In the grand event of the Kisan Samman Samroh happening in Bhagalpur, a total of ₹22,000 crore will be transferred to farmers’ accounts. This mega event will see the participation of around 2.5 crore farmers, both physically and virtually. In the previous installment, the government had transferred ₹20,665 crore to farmers under the 18th phase.

Since its inception, the PM Kisan Yojana has made significant contributions, with nearly ₹3.46 lakh crore transferred to the accounts of around 9.6 crore farmers in the past six years. With the release of the 19th installment, the total amount disbursed will cross ₹3.68 lakh crore.

Under the PM Kisan Yojana, ₹6,000 is directly deposited into farmers’ accounts annually, in three installments of ₹2,000 each. This support helps farmers with crucial agricultural expenses like seeds and fertilizers, reducing their dependence on high-interest loans. According to a study by IMPRI, the scheme has alleviated farmers’ debt burden and reduced their reliance on external loans. This financial assistance is crucial for small farmers who face challenges at the beginning of every farming season.

The 19th installment marks another step toward easing the financial strain on farmers, empowering them to sustain their agricultural activities without falling into debt traps.
