PM Modi Expresses Concern Over Growing Obesity Issues

NEWS CHARIOT : – Prime Minister Narendra Modi has voiced serious concerns over the rising obesity problem in the country. Speaking at the inauguration of the National Games in Uttarakhand, he highlighted the urgent need for better awareness regarding fitness, nutritious food, and healthy living to combat the growing health issues associated with obesity.

The Prime Minister pointed out that obesity is increasing rapidly in India, impacting people across all age groups, including the youth. He warned of the increasing risks of diseases like diabetes and heart conditions due to excessive weight gain. Addressing the citizens, PM Modi stressed the importance of incorporating fitness into daily life, noting that the Fit India Movement has been instrumental in raising awareness about leading a healthy lifestyle.

Fitness and Diet Focus: PM Modi urged the public to pay attention to two key aspects for maintaining good health: exercise and diet. He recommended setting aside time each day for physical activity, ranging from walking to workouts, encouraging people to do whatever is possible to stay active. In addition, he emphasized the need for a balanced diet and advised reducing the intake of unhealthy fats and oils.

Reducing Unhealthy Fats: The Prime Minister also shared practical tips for reducing obesity. He recommended cutting down on unhealthy oils and fats in food. He suggested that if families typically use two liters of cooking oil every month, they should aim to reduce this by at least 10%. Small steps like these can lead to significant improvements in one’s health, he added.
