PM Modi to Reopen Three Modernized Railway Stations in Telangana on May 22

NEWS CHARIOT:-Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the redevelopment of 102 railway stations across India on May 22, including three key stations in Telangana—Begumpet, Warangal, and Karimnagar. These stations have been upgraded under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, which aims to enhance passenger convenience and boost rail infrastructure.

One of the major highlights is the redevelopment of Begumpet Railway Station, which has undergone a complete transformation with a budget of ₹26.55 crore. The station now boasts modern facilities and a world-class design. As part of the redevelopment, a new station building, 12-meter-wide foot over bridge, platform shelters, lifts and escalators, spacious waiting halls, and modern toilets have been constructed. These upgrades are expected to significantly improve the travel experience for passengers and reduce congestion.

The modernization effort reflects the Indian Railways’ commitment to improving passenger amenities and infrastructure across the country. The use of advanced technology and passenger-centric planning is a key feature of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The initiative is not only aimed at improving the aesthetics of railway stations but also enhancing their functionality to meet future demands.

The other two stations—Warangal and Karimnagar—have also received infrastructure and facility upgrades under this scheme, making them more accessible and commuter-friendly. The virtual inauguration by the Prime Minister will mark a milestone in Telangana’s railway development, reinforcing the state’s connectivity and modernization goals.
