Prioritize Journalists in Rajeev Youth Development Scheme-Working Journalists of India

NEWS CHARIOT:-In an encouraging response to a request from the Working Journalists of India (WJI), the District Collectors of Warangal and Hanamkonda, Satya Sharada and Praveenya, have pledged to prioritize journalists under the Rajeev Youth Development Scheme.

This pledge follows a representation made by the WJI’s United Warangal District Committee, led by prominent figures such as Puli Sharath Kumar (Convenor), National Leader Yamsani Srinivas, and District Leader T. Ramesh, who met the Collectors on Monday at the collectorates in Hanamkonda.

The WJI leader’s request was rooted in the financial difficulties faced by many journalists, especially those from poorer and middle-class backgrounds. Acknowledging that journalists play a crucial role in information dissemination and public awareness, the WJI leaders appealed for their inclusion in the Rajeev Youth Development Scheme, which was initially designed for unemployed youth. They emphasized that many journalists face economic hardships, and providing support through the scheme would empower them to continue their essential work.

The Collectors expressed their appreciation for the valuable input provided by the WJI leaders and assured them that, once applications are submitted and reviewed, steps would be taken to extend the benefits of the scheme to qualified journalists. They acknowledged the necessity of prioritizing journalists under the scheme, given their importance in society.

Additionally, the WJI requested that journalists from economically disadvantaged backgrounds be given priority. The Collectors responded affirmatively, confirming that such journalists would indeed be given special consideration. Journalists who wish to benefit from the scheme were advised to submit their applications along with the respective application numbers to the WJI leaders, who would then forward these details to the Collectors for further processing.

The Collectors reassured the WJI leaders that they would make every effort to ensure that as many journalists as possible benefit from the scheme. This pledge has been well-received by the journalistic community, which hopes the Rajeev Youth Development Scheme will be effectively expanded to support the financial stability of journalists across the region.
