The incident resulted in heavy machinery, including a truck and a borewell rig, sinking into the ground. The water level surged to a height of 10 feet, resembling a volcanic eruption, and flowed continuously for 12 hours.

- The event unfolded while a borewell was being drilled in a farmer’s field near the Jhora Minor canal. The drilling reached a depth of approximately 250 meters (850 feet) before the ground burst open.
