Ration Card Holders Must Complete eKYC to Continue Receiving Free Ration

NEWS CHARIOT:-In a major update for ration cardholders, the government has issued an important directive regarding eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer) verification. Beneficiaries who fail to complete their eKYC process within the next seven days will stop receiving free ration from April 1st onwards.

The Aadhaar card, ration card, or BPL card is essential for availing various government schemes. Completing eKYC ensures a smooth distribution of benefits. However, those who fail to comply will have their names removed from the ration card, making them ineligible for food grain distribution under the Public Distribution System (PDS).

To complete the eKYC process, ration cardholders must visit their nearest PDS shop or dealer before the deadline. Even those residing outside their home state do not need to return. They can complete the verification at any nearby public distribution shop through the e-POS (electronic Point of Sale) machine.

The government has undertaken this initiative to eliminate fraudulent ration cards and ensure that only eligible beneficiaries receive benefits. During eKYC, the details on the ration card—such as the name, date of birth, and Aadhaar details—will be verified to prevent misuse.

This verification process is part of a larger effort to digitize and streamline ration distribution across the country. Officials have warned that failure to complete eKYC on time will result in the cancellation of ration benefits for the non-compliant individuals.

Ration cardholders are advised to act immediately and complete their eKYC before the deadline to avoid any disruption in receiving free ration.
