Rescue Operations at SLBC Tunnel Reach 18th Day

NEWS CHARIOT:-The ongoing rescue operations at the SLBC tunnel have now reached their 18th day as of Tuesday. Despite continuous efforts, authorities are yet to locate the remaining seven workers trapped inside the tunnel. Teams are working tirelessly to ensure their safe recovery.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited the accident site to assess the situation. During his visit, he directed officials to deploy robotic technology to enhance rescue efforts. In response to his orders, an Anvi Robo team entered the tunnel on Tuesday morning to assist in locating and retrieving the trapped workers.
Apart from the robotic team, 11 other specialized rescue teams from various companies have been actively participating in the operation. The rescue mission is being carried out in shifts to ensure continuous progress. During the first shift on Tuesday, 110 personnel entered the tunnel to advance the efforts. The teams are employing advanced techniques and equipment to navigate the challenging conditions inside the tunnel.
The accident took place approximately 14 kilometers inside the tunnel, with a critical high-risk zone located about 50 meters ahead of the accident site. The rescue operation is particularly challenging due to unstable conditions in this section. Out of the eight initially trapped workers, the body of Sun Preet Singh from Robbins Company was recovered two days ago by Singareni workers. However, the fate of the remaining seven workers remains uncertain. Given the complexity of the operation, officials decided to deploy robotic assistance to explore and clear the affected area more effectively.
The rescue operation is being closely monitored by Arvind Kumar, Chief Secretary of the State Disaster Management Department. He is working in coordination with District Collector Badava Santosh, SP Raghunath Gaikwad, and expert rescue teams to oversee the situation. The authorities are utilizing all available resources to expedite the rescue process while ensuring the safety of the personnel involved.
