Rowdy-Sheeters Warned of PD Act Enforcement if No Reform: Karimnagar Rural CI

NEWS CHARIOT:-Karimnagar Rural Circle Inspector (CI) A. Niranjan Reddy issued a stern warning to rowdy-sheeters, stating that those who fail to reform and continue engaging in criminal activities will face action under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act. He emphasized that such individuals could end up spending years behind bars if they persist in their old ways.

The CI conducted a counseling session for rowdy-sheeters on Friday as per the instructions of Police Commissioner Gous Alam and Rural ACP Shubham Prakash Nagra. The session, held in the Karimnagar rural limits, aimed to educate history-sheeters about the consequences of continued involvement in criminal activities and to encourage a shift toward lawful and responsible living.

CI Niranjan Reddy urged individuals with criminal backgrounds to give up their past behaviors and lead a life of integrity. He said the police are ready to remove the names of those who genuinely reform from the official records. “Those who stay away from crime, behave well, and are suffering from health issues are being considered for removal from the list of rowdy-sheeters,” he noted.

He stressed that if these individuals do not change, they risk becoming social outcasts, with their own children facing isolation in society. “No one will want to associate with them or their families. Even marriages and social functions could be affected,” he warned.

The police have been maintaining strict surveillance on rowdy-sheeters to ensure public peace and safety. The CI appealed to all citizens to cooperate with the police department, which is working around the clock to maintain law and order. He reassured the public that the police are committed to delivering services aligned with citizens’ expectations.

A total of 25 rowdy-sheeters participated in the counseling session, which also saw the involvement of Sub-Inspector Lakshmareddy. The initiative is part of the police department’s ongoing efforts to promote community safety and encourage former offenders to reintegrate into society as law-abiding citizens.
