Sankranti Special RTC Bus Services and Increased Fares

NEWS CHARIOT (HYDERABAD,JAN.8) : As Sankranti approaches, people who are settled in cities for education, jobs, or business are returning to their hometowns, and to manage the increasing passenger demand, the government has announced holidays for educational institutions starting from the 11th of this month. In response, the RTC (Road Transport Corporation) is organizing additional bus services. The already popular Mahalakshmi scheme has led to a rise in demand, and the festive season is expected to further increase the crowd.

For the growing number of passengers, the RTC authorities in the Karimnagar region have prepared plans to deploy extra buses. From January 7th to 22nd, additional buses will be running from JBS (Jagadgirigutta Bus Station) to Karimnagar. Starting January 13th, 770 buses will operate from JBS to Karimnagar, and from January 16th to 22nd, 970 buses will run in the opposite direction.

Additionally, more than 860 buses from Karimnagar region, as well as buses from other depots, will be deployed for special services. To handle the demand, the RTC is organizing extra trips for these buses. Passengers will also be charged an additional 50% fare for the special services.

To accommodate passengers and help them avoid last-minute rush, the RTC has introduced a reservation system. Travelers can reserve their seats online via the official website (www.tgsrtcbus.in). A total of 1,740 special buses will be operated from the Karimnagar region, and passengers are encouraged to make use of this service.

However, the 50% surcharge on fares for special buses has caused dissatisfaction among passengers. Many are questioning the reason behind this additional charge, and are urging the authorities to reconsider the extra fare and reduce it.
