Security Forces Intensify Anti-Maoist Operation in Karreguttalu Forest Region

NEWS CHARIOT : Security forces have intensified their combing operations in the dense forest region of Karreguttalu, located along the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border. The region, known for heavy Maoist activity, has been under continuous surveillance as central forces push forward in their mission to neutralize threats and dismantle extremist infrastructure.
According to officials, the forces are encountering a dangerous terrain heavily rigged with landmines and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) allegedly planted by Maoists. Despite the challenges, the troops have been successful in locating and defusing several explosive devices while destroying makeshift shelters and operational hubs hidden deep within the forest canopy.
In a strategic move, the central forces have now taken control of key zones within the Karreguttalu forest. To strengthen their presence, forward base camps have been established in Dhobey Hills, Neelam Sarai Hills, and on the outskirts of Alubaka. These camps serve as critical logistical points and command centers for ongoing surveillance and tactical operations.
To enhance monitoring capabilities, special signaling towers have been erected to support drone reconnaissance missions. These drones are being deployed to track Maoist movements across the forested terrain. In addition, elite K9 and K3 dog squads from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are actively engaged in locating underground bunkers believed to be used by Maoist cadres. Intelligence inputs suggest that hundreds of Maoists are sheltering in these fortified bunkers across the region.
Meanwhile, civil rights groups and peace activists have raised their voices against the ongoing encounters in Karreguttalu. Leaders from the Peace Committee have met with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, urging the state to appeal to the central government to bring an end to the violence. They emphasized the need for dialogue and reconciliation over prolonged militarized action.
As the standoff escalates, the situation in Karreguttalu remains tense, with both ground-level action and political discourse unfolding simultaneously.
