Shraddha Srinath Shines in Sci-Fi Thriller Kaliyugam 2064, Released in Theaters On May 9

NEWS CHARIOT:-South Indian actress Shraddha Srinath, best known for her roles in hit films like Jersey and Krishna and His Leela, headlines the newly released science fiction thriller Kaliyugam 2064. Directed by Pramod Sundar and produced by K.S. Ramakrishna under the RK International banner, the film hit theaters today in both Telugu and Tamil languages.

The film, co-starring Kishore in a pivotal role, explores a post-apocalyptic world set in the year 2064, following the aftermath of a devastating third world war. Society is divided between the elite survivors, known as the “Residence,” and the oppressed masses left to struggle for survival. A rebel group called the “Liberators” fights for justice, and Kishore plays Shakti, one of its key members.

The story follows Shakti’s mission to secure food supplies, which results in a fatal conflict with the Residence. Left gravely injured, he crosses paths with a woman named Rati during a desperate search for food and water. A tragic accident leaves Rati dead, and Shakti soon finds himself fleeing from enemies. Guided by a mysterious voice over a microphone, he arrives at a safe house, where he begins to question the secrets behind the sanctuary’s comfort. The arrival of Bhumi, played by Shraddha Srinath, adds further intrigue to the plot.

The film opens with an impactful narration by Sai Kumar and quickly sets the tone with its dystopian backdrop. Though the first half maintains suspense, parts of the second half feel slow, only to be revived by a strong climax. Shraddha Srinath delivers a compelling performance with a fresh appearance, while Kishore impresses with his physical transformation and intense portrayal.

With engaging visuals and strong technical execution, Kaliyugam 2064 brings a fresh experience to the sci-fi genre in Indian cinema. Despite a few narrative dips, the film succeeds in delivering a thought-provoking and visually gripping story. It is expected to do well on OTT platforms and appeals to fans of futuristic thrillers and post-apocalyptic adventures.
