Sub-junior handball selection trials for girls held

NEWSCHARIOT (Karimnagar, Oct.29) : The district level sub-junior girls handball selection trials were held under the District Handball Association here at private school ground in Kothapally of Karimnagar district on Tuesday.
The president of the association Veerla Venkateshwar Rao and general secretary Basaraveni Lakshman supervised the selection trial process.
Later, speaking on the occasion, they said that they are happy to see many young girls from rural backgrounds coming forward to play games like handball. Participating in the competitions will not only encourage the girls to face hard situations in their lives but also help them to improve their personal skills.
Playing games and sports regularly will give self-confidence to the girls and they will help them to get rid of fear of moving alone or interacting with others. They will understand the importance of team work and healthy competitiveness, they added.
As many as 200 members of girl students from various schools across the united Karimnagar district are going to participate in the selections. The girls who will be selected are going to play in the state-level handball tournament that is going to be held in Asifabad of Adilabad district from November 2 to 4, they informed.
The chairman of the school Y.Sujith Rao, director Shirisha Rao, handball association secretary N.Prabhakar, coach M.Venkatesh, Sridhar, Surendar, Krishnahari, Srikanth, Surya, Amarsai, Shivaji, Harish, Sravanthi and Kanaka Lakshmi were present along with others.
