Swachhta Pakhwada Kicks Off at NTPC Ramagundam & Telangana with Enthusiastic Participation

NEWS CHARIOT :-NTPC Ramagundam & Telangana launched the Swachhta Pakhwada on Thursday, marking the start of a fortnight-long campaign focused on promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and sustainable living practices. Scheduled from May 16 to 31, this initiative underscores NTPC’s strong alignment with the national Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

The inaugural event began with employees and residents taking the Swachhta Pledge in both Hindi and English, collectively affirming their commitment to maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings. This was followed by an enthusiastic Safai Abhiyaan, during which participants actively engaged in cleaning efforts across the premises.

A highlight of the day was a Prabhat Pheri (morning march) from the Main Shopping Complex to the Main Gate, led by Shri Chandan Kumar Samanta, Executive Director (R&T). Addressing the participants, Shri Samanta emphasized the significance of incorporating cleanliness into everyday routines. “Swachhta should not be limited to a specific fortnight; every day should be celebrated as Swachhta Diwas,” he urged, encouraging all township residents to take collective responsibility in preserving hygienic and clean environments.

The event witnessed broad-based involvement from a wide range of stakeholders, including Smt. Rakhi Samanta, President of DMS; Shri K.C. Singha Roy, GM (Operations); Shri Babar Salim Pasha, Central NBC Member; Smt. Roopa Singha Roy, senior DMS members, along with representatives from unions and associations. NTPC employees and their family members also participated in large numbers, showcasing a united front in support of the cause.

NTPC Ramagundam reiterated its dedication to fostering a culture of environmental consciousness and civic responsibility. Through initiatives like Swachhta Pakhwada, the organization continues to play a vital role in building cleaner, healthier communities within its operational and residential areas.
