Swift Progress in Kothapalli–Manoharabad Railway Line Project in Telangana

NEWS CHARIOT:-Construction work on the much-anticipated Kothapalli–Manoharabad railway line in Telangana is advancing rapidly, with significant progress being made in land acquisition within the Rajanna Siricilla district. Officials are optimistic about completing the project within the scheduled time frame, which is expected to boost regional connectivity and economic development.

During a video conference held on April 17, District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha provided an update on the status of the project. He revealed that out of the total 386.21 hectares of land required for the railway line, 342.46 hectares have already been handed over to the Railway Department. The Collector emphasized the district administration’s commitment to completing the remaining land acquisition and compensation processes swiftly.

Among the pending 43.75 hectares, 15.21 hectares of reserved forest land have also been handed over to the Railways. In return, the administration has allocated 38.05 acres of land in Kondapur village under Konaraopet mandal for the needs of the Forest Department. This move ensures compliance with forest conservation norms while supporting the ongoing infrastructure development.

To support the affected farmers, ₹68.80 crore has been deposited in the Project Director’s account for compensation payments. The Collector assured that the disbursement of compensation will begin immediately after receiving approval from the state government. This financial provision aims to ensure that farmers are fairly compensated for the loss of their land.

Officials from various departments also participated in the conference and discussed the overall progress of the railway project. Collector Jha expressed confidence that once the railway line is completed, it will significantly improve transportation in the region, opening up new opportunities for trade, mobility, and local development.

The district administration remains focused on securing all necessary approvals and completing the project in a time-bound manner. With coordinated efforts from both state and central agencies, the Kothapalli–Manoharabad railway line is poised to become a key driver of growth for the region.
