Telangana Glows with Christmas Spirit: Grand Celebrations Across Churches

NEWS CHARIOT (Hyderabad, Dec.25) : Christmas-the celebration of the birth of Jesus celebrated on a grand note here at several churches present across the Telangana state here on Wednesday.

Many churches major cities and towns were decked up and beautifully decorated with illuminating lights along with conducting various programmes from the past one week to mark the Christmas celebrations.

The children dressed in traditional attire actively participated in various events which include singing, dancing and acting like Shanta Clause along with distributing sweets and gifts to each other.

The Christmas atmosphere was created at churches situated in the cities and towns filled with melodious tunes of carols and hymns along with displaying the spectacular dioramas depicting the birth of Christ. Large number of people poured in for prayers holding the Holy Bible in their hands

Special prayers were held in all the churches Christu Jyothi, CSI Centenary Wesley, CBC church, Telugu Baptists, Calvary Baptist and Bethesda Baptist, Centenary Baptist, Saint Mary, Omega church, Good Shepherd, Faith home ministry right from early hours followed by speeches by church leaders and pastors.

Participating in the celebrations at the Christu Jyothi Church at Kamalapuram of Warangal district, the MLA Kadiyam Srihari praised the life of Jesus Christ, highlighting how his teachings of love, patience, sacrifice and charity have guided humanity towards the right path.

The Kamalapuram Christu Jyothi Prayer Hall which is considered the largest church in Asia for receiving international recognition is a blessing for the people of Station Ghanpur and assured that he is committed to develop it further and the area into a tourist and spiritual hub.

The government chief whip and Vemulawada MLA Aadi Srinivas participating in the Christmas celebrations at Shatrajpally in Vemulawada said that it is a special day for all the people especially those who belong to Christian community and has a very important spiritual significance. The message of the Christmas is mankind, about strengthening the people’s faith and to hope for a better future for all. It is also a time to ask what God means to us, he added.

Karimnagar CSI centenary Wesley church witnessed thousands of people from in and around the city along with various corners of the district. The pastors of the various churches in their preaching said that the message of love, tolerance and brotherhood of Jesus is effectively conveyed to humanity through the Christmas celebrations. It is the day of giving, sharing and spreading joy and happiness in abundance, they added.

Meanwhile, the religious leaders expressed their gratitude to the administration of both erstwhile Karimnagar and Warangal districts for making elaborate arrangements on the occasion of Christmas Festival.
