Telangana Government Plans Action on Noisy Royal Enfield Motorcycles

NEWS CHARIOT:-The Telangana state government is preparing to take strict action against the use of modified Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles that produce excessive noise, causing widespread public disturbance and health concerns.
Bullet bikes have long enjoyed popularity, especially among the youth, who are drawn to their distinct design and powerful engine sound. However, a growing trend of modifying these bikes with unauthorized, high-decibel silencers has led to increased complaints from the public. Residents have reported serious discomfort, particularly in residential areas and near hospitals and schools.
Experts warn that the loud noise not only disturbs peace but also poses health risks, especially to children and the elderly. Medical professionals have pointed out that continuous exposure to such noise levels can lead to hearing problems. Additionally, traffic police have raised concerns that the sudden, loud sounds can distract other drivers, increasing the chances of accidents on busy roads.
Responding to these concerns, the Telangana government has directed the police department to initiate legal action against violators. According to officials from the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, over 80 cases have already been registered against riders using illegal silencers. Authorities have also warned that stricter enforcement will follow, with potential penalties including vehicle seizure and heavy fines.
While the move has received support from many citizens who are affected by noise pollution, some Bullet enthusiasts have expressed dissatisfaction. They argue that not all riders misuse the bikes and that punishing everyone for a few violations is unfair.
Nevertheless, the government has clarified that the measures are aimed at ensuring public health and road safety. With implementation expected to intensify in the coming weeks, authorities are urging all Bullet owners to comply with standard regulations and avoid unauthorized modifications.
As the state moves toward stricter enforcement, this development marks a significant step in tackling urban noise pollution and promoting responsible vehicle use.
