Telangana to Launch New Bhoomi Bharati Law on April 14

NEWS CHARIOT:-Telangana is set to roll out the new Bhoomi Bharati Act from April 14, aiming to simplify land record management for farmers. The law will be implemented in phases, with a new, user-friendly portal featuring six modules designed to ease the process for landowners. This marks a significant step forward in land reforms for the state, with the Bhoomi Bharati Act (Record of Rights in Lands) 2025 set to revolutionize the way land records are maintained and accessed.
The Act was officially launched by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Ambedkar Jayanti, with arrangements being made for a grand event at Shilpa Kala Vedika in Hyderabad. The new portal, designed with a focus on simplicity, will replace the existing Dharani portal, which has faced criticism for being slow and difficult to navigate. Unlike Dharani, which has over 30 modules, the Bhoomi Bharati portal will only feature six modules, making it easier for farmers to apply without confusion.
A key feature of the new system is the introduction of an appeal mechanism at the district level, which eliminates the need for farmers to go to court for rejections, as was the case with Dharani. This will not only save farmers time and money but also streamline the entire process.
To further assist users, the government will introduce a chatbot integrated into the Bhoomi Bharati portal. The chatbot will provide real-time assistance, helping farmers with application procedures, document requirements, and clarifying any doubts they may have about the process. Additionally, a mobile app, similar to a wallet, will store each farmer’s details along with a temporary landholder number, making it easier for them to track their land records.
The Bhoomi Bharati Act, passed by the Assembly and Council in December, received Governor’s approval in January, and is expected to provide farmers with transparent and accessible land records, solving many of their long-standing issues.
