Tension Escalates Between MLAs During Review Meeting in Karimnagar

NEWS CHARIOT :  A review meeting at the Collectorate in Karimnagar turned chaotic when a heated argument broke out between Jagtial MLA Dr. S. Sanjay Kumar and Huzurabad MLA Padi Koushik Reddy. The confrontation quickly escalated from a verbal spat to a physical scuffle, shocking officials and other political leaders present at the meeting.

The incident occurred when MLA Sanjay Kumar was speaking, and Koushik Reddy intervened, blocking his microphone and using derogatory language to question Sanjay’s political affiliation. This provoked a heated exchange of words, which then turned physical as both MLAs pushed each other in front of ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, and Ponnam Prabhakar. Despite efforts from other leaders and MLAs to calm the situation, the altercation continued until police officials intervened, escorting Koushik Reddy out of the hall to restore order.

In a statement following the incident, MLA Sanjay accused Koushik Reddy of obstructing him and resorting to personal attacks rather than discussing the developmental issues at hand. Sanjay expressed his frustration, criticizing Reddy for diverting the discussion to irrelevant matters.

On the other hand, Koushik Reddy accused Sanjay of corruption and claimed that Sanjay’s current political position was a favor from the former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Reddy also demanded that Sanjay resign from his MLA position if he truly had the courage, adding fuel to the already tense atmosphere.

The situation highlights the growing tensions between the two leaders, with both accusing each other of misconduct, while the authorities are under pressure to ensure that such incidents do not disrupt governance.
