Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama Makes Key Statement on Successor

NEWS CHARIOT:-Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, has made a crucial statement regarding his successor. He asserted that his reincarnation will take place outside China. This revelation was made in his newly written book, A Voice for the Voiceless.

This statement is significant as the Dalai Lama has had a six-decade-long dispute with China over Tibet’s control. In his book, which is set to be released today and reviewed by an English news agency, he emphasizes that his legacy should continue.

In the past, he expressed concerns that his lineage might end with him. However, in this latest book, he clarifies that his reincarnation could happen outside Tibet, possibly in India. He emphasized that reincarnation is intended to carry forward the work of predecessors and stated that the new Dalai Lama will be born in a free world outside China.

The 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, fled Tibet at the age of 23 and sought refuge in India following China’s occupation. He has since been a strong advocate for Tibet’s rights, for which he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989.

The Dalai Lama also dismissed China’s future claims regarding his successor. He firmly stated that any individual declared as his successor by China will not be recognized by the Tibetan people.

Currently residing in Dharamshala, India, the Dalai Lama plans to select his successor from there. China, however, insists that his reincarnation must be chosen within its territory. The Tibetan Buddhist hierarchy places the Panchen Lama in second place after the Dalai Lama. China had previously selected a Panchen Lama of its own, rejecting the one chosen by the Dalai Lama, but failed to gain acceptance from Tibetans.

With this new statement, global interest has now heightened over the Dalai Lama’s future successor.
