Tiger movements spotted in Mulug Venkatapuram forest region

NEWS CHARIOT (Mulug,Dec.11) : The people are living in a panic situation with movements of a tiger in surrounding villages and forest regions of Venkatapuram mandal here in Mulugu district.

The farmers noticed the footprints of the tiger on their way to the chilli fields here at the outskirts of the Alubaka village. Some of the farmers of Bodhapuram village who slept in their water melon fields also informed that they heard roaring of the tigers on Monday night.

The district forest officer Rahul Kishan Jadhav speaking to Deccan Chronicle said that after receiving the information from the villagers, the forest officials accompanied by three Animal Tracker Teams visited the villages and spotted the footprints of the tiger movements and alerted the people living in the surrounding villages of Venkatapuram mandal.

The tiger went to the Chunchupalli forest region of Mangapet mandal. The officials cautioned the shepherds, farmers and people of the region not to venture near the forest region to graze their cattle, goats and sheep following the movement of the tiger.

They also ordered the people and the farmers to remove the traps and electric fencing if they had arranged to protect their fields from wild animals and warned them of taking stringent actions as per wild life protection act if anyone tried to harm the tiger, he added.
