Tragic Bet Turns Fatal: Karnataka Youth Dies After Drinking Five Liquor Bottles
NEWS CHARIOT:-A tragic incident unfolded in Karnataka’s Kolar district after a young man died from consuming an excessive amount of alcohol as part of a dangerous bet with friends. The deceased, identified as Karthik, aged 21, lost his life after reportedly drinking five full bottles of liquor without mixing water, in exchange for a Rs. 10,000 wager.
The incident occurred in Mulbagal, Kolar district, where Karthik had gathered with friends, including Venkata Reddy, Subramani, and three others. According to reports, during a casual gathering, Karthik was challenged by his friends to drink five bottles of alcohol straight, promising him a cash reward if he succeeded. Eager to win the bet, Karthik accepted the challenge and drank the liquor, but soon after, he began experiencing severe health complications.
His friends, realizing the gravity of the situation, rushed him to a nearby hospital in Mulbagal, but despite medical efforts, Karthik succumbed during treatment. The tragedy is even more heartbreaking considering that Karthik had been married for just one year, and his wife had recently given birth to their child only eight days earlier.
Following a complaint from Karthik’s grieving family, a case has been registered at the Nangali Police Station. The police have arrested Venkata Reddy and Subramani, while efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the other individuals involved.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage and sorrow in the local community, raising serious concerns about the reckless behavior encouraged by peer pressure and substance abuse. Authorities are urging the public, especially the youth, to avoid such life-threatening dares and be mindful of the consequences of excessive alcohol consumption.The investigation is ongoing.
