NEWS CHARIOT:-In a unique and centuries-old tradition, devotees of the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Chettlathandra village, located in the Santabommali mandal of Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh, offer banana stems instead of the usual fruits, flowers, or prasad. This practice, which has been followed for over 80 years, has become a significant part of the temple’s identity, drawing devotees from far and wide.

Devotees believe that by offering a banana stem with sincere devotion, their wishes are fulfilled. Whether it’s for a job, marriage, or children, the offering of a banana stem is considered an act that brings good fortune. Unlike many other temples where bananas are offered as fruits, at this temple, the entire banana stem is presented. The practice is particularly noticeable during Bhishma Ekadashi, when thousands of devotees gather, and an astounding 8,000 banana stems are offered.
