Unusual Weather to Continue in Telangana for Another Week

NEWS CHARIOT:-Telangana is currently experiencing highly unusual weather conditions, with a mix of scorching sun in the mornings, rainfall in the afternoons, and a noticeable chill during the nights. This peculiar shift has made it feel like all seasons are happening in a single day.

The sudden change is attributed to a low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal, which is influencing weather patterns across the state. While daytime temperatures remain high, increasing humidity has led to the formation of cumulonimbus clouds, resulting in heavy rains and thunderstorms in many regions.

On Thursday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a rain alert for the state between 3 PM and 6 PM. Orange alerts were issued for Sangareddy and Vikarabad districts, where winds could reach speeds of 40–60 km/h, accompanied by thunder and lightning.

Yellow alerts have been announced for several districts including Kamareddy, Nalgonda, Nagarkurnool, Ranga Reddy, Medchal, Nizamabad, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, and Hyderabad. These areas may experience gusty winds up to 30–40 km/h along with rain and thunderstorms.

In Hyderabad, light showers were reported in various localities such as Chandanagar, Miyapur, Kukatpally, Banjara Hills, and Jubilee Hills. Residents noted the dramatic shift from hot mornings to cool, rainy evenings. The intense heat during midday is deterring many from stepping outdoors.

According to the IMD, this weather pattern is likely to persist for the next few days. On Friday and Saturday, more rain, thunder, lightning, and gusty winds are expected in several districts including Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Siddipet, and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri. Yellow alerts remain in place for these areas through Saturday.

Authorities are urging residents to stay updated on weather alerts and take precautions, especially during evening hours when thunderstorms are most likely.
