Warangal Police Taskforce Seizes Expired Ice Cream Products in Major Raid

NEWS CHARIOT:-In a significant operation, the Warangal Police Taskforce, in coordination with Food Safety officers, raided a local ice cream manufacturing unit for serious violations of food safety standards. The operation targeted the Cool Touch Ice Cream Company, located in Balaji Nagar, for selling expired products without proper licenses, and for failing to print manufacturing and expiry dates on the packaging.
During the raid, authorities seized nearly 8 different types of ice cream products worth approximately ₹83,200, which were found to be prepared for sale despite being in violation of food safety regulations. The seized products were being stored and readied for sale without meeting the essential food safety standards, including the lack of manufacturing and expiry dates on the labels, putting public health at risk.
The raid was conducted under the direct instructions of Warangal Police Commissioner, Sri San Preet Singh, who expressed strong concerns over businesses that compromise on quality and hygiene. The operation was led by Taskforce Inspector L. Pavan Kumar, alongside his team and Food Safety officers, who uncovered the violations at the facility operated by Allipuram Sripal Reddy. Reddy, the 43-year-old owner of the company, was arrested and his property was seized. He has since been handed over to the Food Safety Officer for further legal proceedings.
In a stern warning to all local business owners, the police emphasized that any business found violating food safety norms—especially involving expired or contaminated products—would face strict penalties. The authorities also highlighted that the sale of counterfeit goods, including those masquerading as popular brands, is under close surveillance. Violating the Food Safety & Standards Act of 2006 and its 2011 regulations will result in legal action and penalties for those involved.
This raid is a part of the ongoing efforts by the Warangal Police to ensure public safety and uphold high standards of hygiene and food quality in the city. The authorities have urged citizens to report any such violations to prevent the sale of unsafe food products.
