Warangal to Get Sleeper Vande Bharat Trains by End of May

NEWS CHARIOT:-In a major development for rail passengers from Warangal, Indian Railways is set to launch two high-speed sleeper Vande Bharat trains through the city by the end of May. These trains, designed with advanced technology, aim to offer passengers a premium travel experience similar to that of air travel.

Currently, two Vande Bharat express trains are successfully operating on the Secunderabad–Visakhapatnam route via Warangal, featuring Chair Car and Executive Chair Car coaches. However, the lack of sleeper options has been a concern for long-distance travelers who find it uncomfortable to sit for extended durations.

Addressing this issue, the Railway Department has decided to introduce sleeper-class Vande Bharat trains. These new trains will allow passengers to lie down comfortably during overnight journeys, making them especially convenient for those traveling long distances.

The new sleeper Vande Bharat trains are designed to run at speeds of up to 180 km/h. As part of the first phase of the rollout, Indian Railways will introduce nine sleeper Vande Bharat trains across the country. Among them, two have been allotted to the Telugu-speaking states and will operate via Warangal. One train will run from Vijayawada to Ayodhya (Varanasi), while the other will connect Secunderabad and Tirupati. Each train will consist of 16 coaches.

While official details on ticket prices and stoppages are yet to be announced, railway officials indicate that the services may be launched by the end of this month. The move has been welcomed by passengers in the region, many of whom have expressed happiness over the inclusion of sleeper coaches in the Vande Bharat series.

The introduction of these sleeper trains is expected to significantly enhance comfort and convenience for overnight rail travelers in Warangal and surrounding areas. It marks a major upgrade in passenger amenities and reaffirms Indian Railways’ commitment to modernizing the country’s rail infrastructure.
