The scammer, continuing to trust Bhupendra, sent an additional ₹4,480 to resolve the issue. Bhupendra’s friend pretended to be a jeweler during the phone call.
After receiving a total of ₹10,000 from the scammer, Bhupendra made further excuses for why he couldn’t return the chain. Eventually, the scammer realized he had been tricked and demanded his money back.Bhupendra refused and reported the matter to the police. He revealed that he would donate the ₹10,000 to fight cybercrime and advised the public not to fear scammers, urging anyone who receives similar calls to report them to the authorities.
